TOKYO AUTO SALON 2026

2026.01.18

Ogura exhibited at TOKYO AUTO SALON 2026, held at Makuhari Messe from Friday, January 9th to Sunday, January 11th, 2026, in collaboration with the racing team ROOKIE Racing, spring manufacturers HAL springs, and PIT ORC.  Ogura booth was visited by many people, and the show was a great success.

The biggest topic of the exhibition was the announcement of the lineup for “GR Team ORC×Field,” which will compete in the Super Endurance Series ST-Q class, starting this season. We also exhibited the “GR Yaris M-concept,” the vehicle they will be competing in. The provocative packaging of this mid-engine 4WD, which relocates the engine and transmission from the front to the rear, attracted the attention of many visitors.

Furthermore, our clutches have been officially adopted for vehicles competing in the “KYOJO FORMULA” starting from the 2026 season. The fact that the performance of our products has been recognized in “KYOJO FORMULA,” a formula race exclusively for female drivers, where high operability and reliability directly affect the outcome, is an important achievement that demonstrates our technical capabilities.

We exhibited the following four vehicles at the booth from different categories and types of racing. These showcased the depth of Ogura’s involvement in each category:

・GR Yaris M-concept (GR Team ORC×Field / Super Taikyu Series ST-Q Class)
・KYOJO FORMULA
・GR COROLLA MORIZO Edition (ROOKIE Racing)
・ORC DL Roadster (2025 JAF All Japan Gymkhana Championship PN3 Class Series Champion / HAL springs)

In addition, in the clutch product area, we exhibited a number of noteworthy new products in addition to our long-standing lineup. Exhibits included a metal clutch for the BMW M2/M4, a metal clutch for the ISUZU D-MAX, a semi-custom clutch scheduled for release in February 2026, and a twin-plate light clutch currently under development, all of which attracted great interest from many visitors.

As in the previous shows, Ogura hosted a talk show, featuring drivers from the TGR Rally Challenge, GR86/BRZ Cup, KYOJO CUP, Super Taikyu Series, and Inter Proto Series. The venue was filled with excitement from start to finish as participants shared exclusive anecdotes and their enthusiasm for the season. Original merchandise from each company was also available for purchase, enjoyed by many visitors.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who attended, as well as to ROOKIE Racing, HAL springs, PIT ORC, and all the other companies involved in this exhibition. We will continue to hone our technology through our challenges in motorsports and strive to further improve the value of our products and brand.

Thank you for your continued support.

Ogura Wins Leap Award

2025.12.22

Ogura spring actuated micro brake, MCNB0.02, wins the Gold Medal in the Mechanical Components Category of the LEAP Awards (Leadership in Engineering Achievement Program) sponsored by WTWH Media. WTWH Media is an American company that publishes industry publications such as Design World, Engineering.com, Fluid Power World, and EE World Online. The award ceremony was held online on October 29th. This product is a holding/emergency stop brake for ultra-small motors. When power is off,  coil springs push the armature against the brake disc, generating torque. When the coil is energized, the armature is pulled to the coil, overcoming the spring force, releasing the brake. Because the brake engages even when power is off, it is used as a safety device in the event of an electrical failure, such as power outage or battery problem. This makes it useful in applications such as increasingly miniaturized robots. This is the fourth time in the past five years that Ogura received this award, and the second consecutive year that we won the Gold Award.
