1938 Established Ogura Seisakusho Co., Ltd.
Hiroshi Ogura, the first President, established Ogura Seisakusho at Nishirokugo 3-23,Kamata-ku (presently Ota-ku), Tokyo to engage in the manufacture of aircraft-related products.
May
1939 Began to manufacture mechanical clutches.
Apr.
1944 Relocated the plant to Aioi-mura, Yamada-gun, Gunma (presently Aioi-cho,Kiryu City)
May
1948 Established Ogura Seimitsu-Kogyo Co., Ltd. to manufacture and sell precision parts for machine tools.
May
1958 Embarked on the manufacture of electromagnetic clutches and selenium rectifiers.
May
1961 Renamed Ogura Seisakusho Co., Ltd. to Ogura Clutch Co., Ltd.
May
1963 Listed on the over-the-counter registration stock market.
May
1964 Began to manufacture and sell air-conditioning clutches.
Feb.
1965 Initiated the export to the USA of air-conditioning clutches.
Jul.
1967 Completed and relocated the Head Office and Plant No.1 to the present address. Renamed the former Head Office to Plant No.2.
Oct.
1969 Completed Plant No.3 in Kiryu City, Gunma.
Nov.
1969 Opened the New York Branch Office.
Jun.
1971 Ogura was awarded as a contributor of exportation by the Minister of International Trade and Industry.
Nov.
1972 Established OGURA OF AMERICA INC in San Francisco, California. (previously our equity method applied subsidiary company)
Sep.
1974 Completed the Akabori plant at Akabori Kashima-cho, Isesaki City, Gunma Pref.
Aug.
1985 Completed the Kohbayashi Plant at Kohbayashi-cho, Isesaki City, Gunma Pref.

1988 Established OGURA CORPORATION in Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A.
